Choker Necklace

Concerning the maʻaneqah, see item (AHT. 11. 03). This necklace is relatively small, and in it there are round beads that have been gilded (wire-crafted), instead of mulberry beads (made from grains of silver). The maʻaneqah has a uniform pattern, but there was a variation in the size of the necklace and in its types of beads. Sometimes pearls would take the place of the octagonal dice beads.

Pearl Necklace

The Pearl Necklace was one of the more splendid items of jewellery worn by the Jewish bride of Ṣanʻā’.
